University can be pretty tough, and essay writing is certainly not easy. Whether you’re writing your first ever undergraduate essay, or you’re in your final year, we could all do with some tips for getting that A grade. But, you’re not alone. If you think you would benefit from some advice, and reassurance, then Rachael is your gal. Here’s what she has to offer you (p.s. If you sign up to the paid course, I will receive a percentage of the cost*).
Hello and thank you Lauren for letting me share my story on your blog today!
My name is Rachael and I’m an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham. I’m also still a student as I’m currently studying for my Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE). I’m always studying and I enjoy it. But it wasn’t always the case.
When I started university in 1991 I really had no idea what would be involved. I was the first person in my family to go to university and from the start I felt isolated and out of my depth. I got increasingly anxious about my workload and constantly felt confused about what I needed to do and how to do it. I hit rock bottom when at the end of my first year I started to have panic attacks. I seriously thought about quitting university altogether.
Thankfully, I didn’t. Instead, I set up what I called ‘study experiments’ where I tried out lots of different study techniques to see what worked. After spending the whole summer vacation testing and learning, I developed a rock solid study system which worked. It completely changed my life. No kidding! Not only did my grades improve but my confidence soared. I went on to study for my Masters degree and PhD and began teaching my fellow students the same techniques.
I know how lonely it can be when you are at university if you don’t know what to do to get the grades you desire and deserve. And now I teach at university, I wanted to give something back. So, I have created a free training video which covers three techniques to teach you ‘How to Answer ANY Essay question. In it you’ll learn:
- The three most common mistakes students make
- How to break the question into commands and concepts
- How to understand the hidden structure of essay questions
You can register to watch it here: http://bit.ly/EssaysLH
Plus you’ll find out how you can attend my Essay Writing Masterclass and Essay Writing course to improve your marks further.
I’ve always thought one of the biggest ironies at university is the one thing you’re not taught is how to write great essays, even though that’s such an important element of your success. I’m trying to fill that gap and help as many students as possible so that you don’t have to suffer from anxiety and worry like I did.
I believe every student has the potential to change the world in some way, big or small. You shouldn’t have to settle for less just because you’ve never been taught how to write essays.
If you are struggling with your essay writing and you’ve got deadlines coming up then I want to reassure you: you’re not alone. Check out my free training. I hope it helps!
